Days 3 and 4 in NYC

Sorry I haven't blogged the last two days. I didn't get access to the computer but I have a lot to catch you up on. Yesterday was great. First we went down to the shore and saw the Statue of Liberty from afar. We also went down to Wall Street and saw the NYSE, the charging bull and also ground zero, which I am sorry to say was disappointing. I don't know what I expected but I at least thought I might get a bit emotional but all it was was construction where the towers once stood and you couldn't really see down there. The tributes and photos were nice (for lack of a better word) but all in all it just didn't move me like I thought. We went to Virgin Mega Store in Times Square to see Jennifer (our hostess) perform a short number from the musical she will be performing in. She was amazing! I never knew she had such a set of lungs on her. We also went to Canal Street which is the best place to shop for crap. I found a fabulous Burberry bag and got a smashing deal. I know it's a knock off but I can't tell so lets just keep that our little secret.
Today ventured over to Chinatown. We've pretty much seen everything and more of any interest so we took our time. Well it was rainging today and we got turned around without the sun to guide us. I have to say once you get the hang of the subway station this city is pretty easy to get around but I guess we needed the sun as well cause we headed south when we thought it was north etc. I think it took us like an hour to get to Chinatown, which is about 45 minutes longer then it should have. Plus it never stopped raining and by the time we got to the restaurant I was soaked thru. We had Pho for lunch (a vietnamese soup, delicious) and I got brave and ordered a salty plum to drink. Well I am not sure what i expected but what I got was a glass with plum mush on the bottom and salt water with bubbles. Chad liked it and drank it for me. We wondered around aimlessly for a few more hours and I tried to find some more knock off purses for the ladies back home but I guess earlier that day there was a bust (it's illegal to sell knockoff bags) and no one was selling today so I didn't get what I wanted and now we go home tomorrow so there's no time left.
Tomorrow the Black Eyed Peas are playing on the Today show. It's free as long as you line up at 7:00a.m. so guess who's going to be early tonight. We will be home in 24 hours and it will be nice to sleep in my own bed but I will definetly miss the city. It was more wonderful then I could have imagined.
