Lake Pleasant 5/17/08 

A day at the lake

On Thursday Chad, Amy, Jaime, Dana and I went out to Lake Pleasant. We had Thursday and Friday off for spring break. We planned on fishing but did more eating than anything else. We have to do some off-roading to get out to our spot and that's always fun. There were two high school guys out where we were and they managed to climb up on a cliff about 50feet off the water. They spent 20 minutes contemplating whether or not to jump. They would tense up and test which way the wind was blowing. One kid finally went and the other took an additional 20 minutes before deciding not to do it and climb back down. Like Dana said it was a really boring episode of Fear Factor. Chad managed to fish but ofcourse there's no catching anything in that lake. We did see donkeys though. They got it on a couple of times. No surprise. No matter where Chad and I go, the animals seem to break out in to spontaneous mating. We only got about 1 hour of sun than the clouds came and didn't let up until about 20 minutes before we headed out. The dessert was gorgeous. All sorts of different flowers were blooming. Took an allergy pill before we left. I learned my lesson from my golf allergy fiasco. All in all good day at the lake.

I got my pre-approval for the loan on the house today. my credit score is close to perfect. still have to make a repair but then it'll be time to get the hell out. My real estate agents name is G-II. Don't ask cause I don't know.
we got our shrink number on Friday. we got a 1.36% and we were budgeted for 1.20% so not awful but dollar wise we're only missing $20,000 all in used textbooks. a drop in the bucket as far as I am concerned but if I don't find it soon my bonus is going to suffer. My boss came yesterday to help me locate where the problem might be and we only found about $3000. We did so good last year with only .47 or $6000. so I guess this is worse considereing we made $200,000 more than last year. For those of you who are thinking I am speaking greek it means missing inventory. our entire fiscal year is made by this number. A couple of years ago it was 6% or %60,000 but I was also getting ripped off daily by my assistant manager. we caught her in November but don't get our shrink numbers until March so we got to worry about it for 5 months than we got hit harder that we expected. I am keeping my finger crossed but at this point it's not looking good which means we'll probably get audited soon and that's always stressful! man what a bummer I am today!
Just want to send out a congratulations to Rex and Rita (chad's dad and step-mom) on becoming new grandparents. Sherree (Chad's step sister) gave birth a couple days ago to a baby boy named Landen.

it's not easy living in the ghetto.

well finally alone for first time in 3 months. we got into a full blown shouting match on Saturday while on our way to the casino. she's not used to hearing no so she constantly pushes and pokes until she gets what she wants. gentle nagging is what i believe it's called. I snapped and went in to road rage.
been talkin to Bernie (he's the maintenance guy on campus) and he came out to look at my damaged crappy house. I am having the carport repaired on Saturday and hopefully Chad and Dan will finish the roof and then it's time to sell. i can't wait to get out of there. Sunday night we had some domestic disturbance on my front lawn at 2:00a.m. that was the last straw. I have seen more cop cars on my street, shootings, arrest etc than I care to mention. it's not normal. my neighborhood really isn't so bad just those few really rotten apples that bring it down.
Amy and i went to sushi the other night. the deal is if you wear blue you get the whole meal half off, including the alcohol. well imagine our delight when we discovered they got rid of that deal a few weeks earlier. didn't stop us though. we ordered four plates each and the waiter was like " you know that's a lot of food right?" yeah thanks for calling me fat jackass! I can't help if I have a healthy appetite. i've always had it since i was a kid, I could always clean my plate and seconds. we stuffed our faces with sushi rolls and martinis. it was good.
I am so sleepy today. my side is still hurting and makes it very uncomfortable to lay on so i wake up everytime i change postitions or take a deep breathe.
