I could make a fortune

driving home tonight I got my first speeding ticket ever. I've been driving since I was 14 (I had a European liberal mom, so?) and I've only ever gotten one ticket before. I blatantly ran a stupid stop sign and although I had run this same sign for a year previously I got stopped one day when I wasn't careful. But speeding has always been my thing. I am like a hawk on the road and spot the popo a mile away. So, much to my surprise, I didn't see him until it was too late tonight. When I did spot him I checked my speedometer and was doing 80mph (posted 65mph and yes he did ask me if I knew that and I considered lying but I don't think it would have done any good) so I very gently took my foot off the gas and coasted down to 70 but it was already too late. He followed me for a mile and then finally pulled me over. I didn't get a warning, mostly because since he had to ticket me for not having a current proof of insurance he got to slam me twice. Oh well, I guess it was bound to happen eventually the way I drive but man I was on a role there for a while! Now, more than anything, I'm annoyed that I have to go to driving school. I'm honestly just thinking I'm going to pay the ticket and not deal with all the rest of that nonsense. Although I do have to go to court to show my proof of insurance so maybe I'll take my chances and fight the ticket. I think I heard once that if the cop who wrote the ticket doesn't show you win by default but I have no idea if that 's true or not. What's even more annoying was that he told me that if it had been 3a.m. and there wasn't anyone else out here he wouldn't have bothered stopping me. Whatever dude. My idea was to set up a service that goes to driving school on your behalf. Yes, it would be more expensive to hire someone but think of the 8 hours you'd be saving. I'd hire someone so that I don't have to go sit in a room with bunch of disgruntled jackasses. Wouldn't you?
